Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 2
- flour - 5 c
- melted margarine - 1/4 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- warm water - 2 Tbsp
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Sift dry ingredients together. Blend in shortening. Dissolve yeast in water; let set 5 minutes. Add buttermilk. Add yeast and buttermilk to flour mixture. Mix well. Turn out on slightly floured board; roll or pat to desired thickness and cut into biscuits. Dip tops in melted margarine and place on lightly greased baking sheet.
