Ingredients/Components
- flour - 5 c
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- lukewarm water - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
How to make angel biscuits:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add buttermilk and dissolved yeast. Mix until moistened. Cover bowl and place in refrigerator until ready to use. When ready to use roll on floured board to 1/2 or 3/4 -inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter. Bake in 400° oven 10 to 12 minutes.
