Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- sour cream - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- water - 1 c
- confectioners sugar
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- plus 2 Tbsp - 2 c
- orange or lemon extract - 1/2 tsp
- grated rind of 1 orange or lemon
- oleo regular - 1 c
- grated rind of lemon or orange - 1 item
How to make white texas sheet cake:
Frosting:1/2 c. oleo (regular)6 Tbsp. milk3 1/2 c. confectioners sugar1/2 tsp. orange or lemon extract grated rind of lemon or orange1 c. chopped nuts Cake: Bring water and oleo to boil; remove from heat and add, while hot, flour, sugar and salt. Beat in eggs, sour cream and baking soda. Add orange rind and extract. Pour into greased jellyroll pan (1-inch side). Bake at 375° for 22 minutes.Frosting: Boil oleo and milk; remove from heat and stir in confectioners sugar. Add orange or lemon extract, grated rind and nuts. Frost cake while still warm.
