White fruit cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla extract - 1 oz
- butter - 1/2 lb
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- nuts - 4 c
- plain flour
- lemon extract - 1/2 oz
- candied cherries - 3/4 lb
- candied pineapple - 1 lb
- large eggs, beaten - 5 item
How to make white fruit cake:
Cut fruit and nuts; dredge in flour. Cream butter and sugar. Add well-beaten eggs and blend well. Sift flour and baking powder together. Fold into butter and egg mixture. Add extracts and mix well. Add fruit and nuts and blend well. Grease 10-inch tube pan. Line with brown paper and grease again. Pour batter into pan. Place in cold oven and bake at 250° for 2 hours. Cool in pan on cake rack. Can be baked in 2 (5 x 3-inch) pans for 2 1/2 hours.Recipe categories: Desserts, American, North american.
