Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 6 6
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- water
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
How to make white bread:
In large bowl, combine 4 cups flour, sugar, dissolved yeast and salt. Heat milk, butter and water until warm. Stir into dry ingredients. Stir enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead on floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes. Cover; let rise until double, 10 minutes or more. Keep in warm place out of draft.Divide dough in half. Roll each to a 12 x 7-inch rectangle. Roll up from short ends as for jellyroll. Pinch seams and ends to seal. Put in two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch pans. Cover and let rise until double in size, about 30 to 60 minutes. Bake in oven at 400° for about 30 minutes. When done, take out of pan and place on wire rack to cool.
