Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- sifted cake flour - 3 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- red food coloring - 1 tsp
- egg whites, beaten - 3 item
- dark raisins - 1/2 c
How to make watermelon cake:
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cream margarine; add sugar gradually and cream thoroughly. Add flour alternately with milk. Beat egg whites and add to batter. Divide batter into 2 parts. To one part, add red food coloring and well floured raisins. Grease melon mold or Bundt pan. Put a layer of white batter in the bottom, the red in the center and a layer of white on top.
