Water chestnuts and bacon
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 c
- mayonnaise or salad dressing - 1/2 c
- chili sauce - 1/2 c
- bacon - 1 lb
- cans whole chestnuts - 2 item
- round toothpicks - 1 item
How to make water chestnuts and bacon:
Drain and cut chestnuts in half. Cut bacon slab in thirds while still chilled. Wrap each chestnut up in strip of bacon, toothpick and stand in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Drain off grease thoroughly.Mix brown sugar, salad dressing and chili sauce. Pour over chestnuts and bacon. Bake 25 minutes, uncovered.
