Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • egg yolk - 1 item
  • few drops yellow food coloring - 1 item

How to make vanilla sauce:

Put water, sugar, vanilla, salt and butter in saucepan. Bring to boiling point. Mix cornstarch and water. Add gradually to boiling mixture. Add coloring and egg yolk. Simmer 1 minute. Serve with bread pudding or apple crisp. If too thick, add small amount of water. Can be stored in refrigerator and reheated. Heat slowly!
