Vanilla sauce
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- egg yolk - 1 item
- few drops yellow food coloring - 1 item
How to make vanilla sauce:
Put water, sugar, vanilla, salt and butter in saucepan. Bring to boiling point. Mix cornstarch and water. Add gradually to boiling mixture. Add coloring and egg yolk. Simmer 1 minute. Serve with bread pudding or apple crisp. If too thick, add small amount of water. Can be stored in refrigerator and reheated. Heat slowly!Recipe categories: Sweet sauces, Sauces, Condiments, etc..
