Vanilla sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- vanilla
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- plus 2 Tbsp - 1/2 c
- unsalted butter - 3 Tbsp
How to make vanilla sauce:
Scald cream, all but 1/4 cup of milk and sugar in saucepan over medium heat. Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup milk and add to cream mixture. Bring to a boil until thickened (about 3 minutes). Remove and add butter, vanilla and nutmeg. Cool slightly before serving.Recipe categories: Sweet sauces, Sauces, Condiments, etc..
