Ingredients/Components
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- sticks butter - 2 item
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 item
- bag caramels - 14 oz
- can condensed milk I use the homemade one - 1 item
How to make turtle cake:
Prepare cake mix as directed on package. Divide batter in half. Add one stick of butter (melted) and 1/2 can of mix. Pour into 13 x 9-inch greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Melt caramels, 1 stick butter and remainder of milk. Add pecans. Pour over baked layer. Pour remaining cake batter on top of caramel layer. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes more.
