  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour - 1 c
  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • egg - 1 item
  • light brown sugar - 1 c
  • oats - 1 c
  • dash chocolate frosting - 1 item

How to make toffee bars:

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg. Beat thoroughly. Sift together flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.

Spread evenly in a 7 x 11-inch baking pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350°. Spread warm dark chocolate frosting over bars. Sprinkle with nuts. When cool, cut into bars. Makes about 32 bars.
