Thai beef salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- minced garlic - 3 garlic
- cucumber, sliced - 1 item
- fish sauce - 3 Tbsp
- mixed salad greens - 4 c
- small red onion, chopped - 1 item
- tomatoes, cut into wedges - 2 item
- bunches cilantro - 2 item
- freshly squeezed lime juice - 1/3 c
- beef top loin or round - 1 lb
- Serrano chilies, minced - 3 item
- bunch fresh mint optional - 1 item
How to make thai beef salad:
Wash cilantro; cut off leaves. Mince stems with garlic and salt plus a little water to make a paste. Spread on meat. Cover and marinate at least 40 minutes, 2 hours is better. Slice thin; cut into 1-inch pieces. Fry in a little oil on high heat until done.Meanwhile, make the dressing: Combine lime juice, fish sauce, sugar and chilies; mix well. Toss together the salad greens, mint and cilantro leaves. Divide evenly on 4 plates. Place hot beef on top. Drizzle with salad dressing. Arrange sliced cucumber and tomatoes on side. Serves 4.
Tip: Serve this with garlic toast and fruit salad.
