Texas style chili
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 4 item
- chili powder - 1/4 c
- medium onions, chopped - 3 item
- ground chuck - 3 lb
- ground oregano - 2 Tbsp
- large green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- hot bulk sausage - 1 lb
- cans kidney beans, drained - 3 oz
- cans whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped - 2 oz
How to make texas style chili:
Combine ground chuck, sausage, onions, pepper and garlic in a Dutch oven; cook until meat is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well. Stir in next 6 ingredients. Cover and simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally. Add beans and simmer 20 to 30 minutes longer. Makes about 5 quarts.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, Chili.
