Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/4 c
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- powdered sugar
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- strong coffee - 1 c
- Bring to a boil
How to make texas brownies:
Combine butter, shortening and coffee in saucepan (1 cup water plus 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa may be substituted for coffee). Bring to a boil. Mix flour and sugar in a large bowl. Pour boiling mixture over. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well and spread on well buttered cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.Texas Brownie Frosting:1/2 c. butter2 Tbsp. cocoa1/4 c. milk3 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Pour warm frosting over Texas Brownies as soon as you take them out of the oven.Recipe categories: Cookie and brownie, Bar cookie, Brownies.
