Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- chili powder - 2 4
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can kernel corn, including liquid frozen corn can be used with an extra 1/4 c - 1 oz
- Add chili powder, corn, tomato sauce and water
How to make tamale pie:
Saute meat lightly. Add chili powder, corn, tomato sauce and water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Pour into 2-inch deep baking dish. Spread corn meal topping over all and bake in 375° oven for 25 minutes.Cornmeal Topping:1/2 c. cornmeal2 c. water1/2 tsp. salt Add cornmeal and salt to boiling water.
