  • cold water - 1 item
  • oil - 1 item
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 item
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • jar mushrooms - 1 item
  • round steak - 3 lb
  • small onions, sliced - 2 item

How to make swiss steak:

Season steak with salt and pepper. Brown steak in hot oil in heavy skillet on both sides. Remove steak and brown onions in the oil. Remove onions.

Make gravy in skillet by browning flour in the oil, adding cold water until gravy is smooth. Add salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce according to taste. Add mushrooms.

Place the steak and onions in a roaster. Pour the gravy over the steak. Bake at 300° for 3 hours. Serves 8 to 10.
