Sweet and sour shrimp
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- cold water - 3/4 c
- ground ginger - 1/8 tsp
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 oz
- light brown sugar, firmly packed - 1/3 c
- medium green pepper, cut into chunks - 1 item
- lemon juice from concentrate - 1/3 c
- can pineapple chunks, drained reserve juice - 1 oz
- medium raw shrimp, peeled and deveined - 1 lb
How to make sweet and sour shrimp:
In large, heavy skillet, combine reserved pineapple juice, water, lemon juice, sugar, cornstarch, soy sauce and ginger. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick and clear. Add shrimp; cook 3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except rice; heat through. Serve with rice. Refrigerate leftovers. Yield: 4 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Shellfish, Shrimp.
