Sweet and sour sauce
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- can crushed pineapple - 1 oz
- light brown sugar, packed - 1/2 c
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- onion, chopped - 1/2 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 c
- white vinegar - 1/2 c
How to make sweet and sour sauce:
Saute green pepper and onion in oil until tender-crisp. Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. To syrup, blend vinegar, brown sugar, water, soy sauce and cornstarch. Add to sauteed vegetables and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is thick and clear. Add pineapple and heat thoroughly.
