Sweet and sour chicken
Ingredients/Components
- can pineapple chunks - 1 oz
- chicken breasts - 2 lb
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- chicken bouillon - 1/2 c
- large carrots, peeled and sliced - 2 item
- brown sugar, packed - 1/4 c
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- medium onion, sliced into rings and separated - 1 item
- green pepper, cut in strips - 1/2 item
How to make sweet and sour chicken:
Drain pineapple, reserving juice. Set aside. Bone chicken breasts and cut meat into slivers. Saute chicken strips in butter until no longer pink. Add bouillon and carrots. Cover and cook until carrots are tender. Combine reserved pineapple juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar and soy sauce. Add to chicken and carrots and cook until mixture thickens. Just before serving, add pineapple, onion and green pepper. Cook just until heated. Serve over hot rice.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Chicken, Chicken breast.
