Sweet and sour ribs
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 4 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 4 Tbsp
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- catsup - 1 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- to 6 drops Tabasco sauce - 4 item
- pork spareribs or back ribs, cut into serving pieces - 4 lb
How to make sweet and sour ribs:
Place ribs, meaty side up, on rack in foil lined shallow pan. Mix remaining ingredients. Pour 1/3 of sauce on ribs. Bake, uncovered, in 350° until until done, for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, basting 3 or 4 times with remaining sauce.For additional flavor and eye appeal, place 1 lemon very thinly sliced on ribs during last hour of baking. If ribs are browning too quickly, cover loosely with aluminum foil.
