Sweet and sour pork
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1 item
- water - 1 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 4 Tbsp
- ginger - 1 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- ketchup - 1 Tbsp
- green pepper - 1 item
- large onion - 1 item
- chicken bouillon - 2 tsp
- to 3 carrots - 2 item
- sake - 2 Tbsp
- pork steaks or chops, cut in 1-inch cubes - 4 item
How to make sweet and sour pork:
Chop vegetables into small chunks. Put carrots on to boil for about 20 minutes. Put meat in a small bowl with soy sauce (enough to cover) and add ginger and sake; set aside.In a small bowl, mix pineapple juice, sugar, vinegar, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, ketchup, water, chicken bouillon and cornstarch. Add egg and cornstarch (enough to cover) to meat mixture and deep fry meat.
Put 1/4 oil in covered frypan; let heat. Pour in vegetables and pineapple chunks. Stir-fry for 5 to 10 minutes. Put meat and sauce mixture in. Stir together to coat everything with sauce. Cook, covered, for 5 to 10 minutes. Ready to eat.
