Sweet and sour pork
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 3/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- soy sauce
- oil for frying - 2 c
- large onion, sliced - 1 item
- pineapple juice - 1/2 c
- green peppers, sliced - 2 item
- can pineapple chunks, drained - 1 item
- pork, cut into small pieces - 1 lb
- to 4 carrots, sliced - 3 item
How to make sweet and sour pork:
Prepare batter of egg, water, flour and salt and let stand for 1/2 hour. Heat oil in wok. Dip pork in batter and fry a few pieces at a time. Drain. Stir-fry vegetables in a small amount of oil (2 tablespoons). Combine brown sugar, vinegar, juice, water, soy and cornstarch until mixed. Add to vegetables in wok and heat. Add pineapple chunks and heat until sauce thickens. Pour over pork and rice and serve at once.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Main dish, Pork.
