Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- chopped green peppers - 1/3 c
- oil or shortening - 2 Tbsp
- beef bouillon - 1/2 c
- can pineapple chunks with liquid - 1 item
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Combine beef, salt, soy sauce, egg and flour. Shape into bite size balls. Brown in oil or shortening. Make the sauce and pour over meatballs.Sauce: Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened. Pour over meatballs. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°. Makes about 35 small meatballs. Serve as an appetizer with toothpicks or as main course over rice.
