Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- oil - 1 item
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- honey - 1/4 c
- diced onion - 1/2 c
- diced green pepper - 1 c
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- beef broth - 1 c
- pineapple juice - 1 c
- garlic - 1/2 tsp
- grated ginger - 1/4 tsp
- Lipton onion soup - 1 c
- ground sausage - 1/2 lb
- Sauce:1 can diced pineapple
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Sauce:1 can diced pineapple1 c. pineapple juice1 c. diced green pepper1/2 c. diced onion1 c. beef broth1/4 c. honey1/4 tsp. grated ginger1/2 c. vinegar3 Tbsp. soy sauce4 Tbsp. cornstarch4 Tbsp. butter1/2 tsp. garlic Add first 6 ingredients in bowl and mix well. Make into 1 1/2-inch balls. Fry until fully cooked and golden brown.Sauce: Saute onion and peppers in butter. Stir in garlic and ginger. Saute 2 minutes longer. Add all ingredients, except beef broth and cornstarch. Bring to a boil.
Add cornstarch to beef broth. Add to mixture. Cook until thick. Add meatballs and simmer 1/2 hour. Serve by themselves or over rice for a main dish.
