Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
- water - 1/3 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- salad oil - 2 Tbsp
- garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef
- wine vinegar - 3 Tbsp
- onion, minced - 1 item
- pineapple juice
- pineapple and papaya chunks - 2 c
- green peppers, cut to bite size - 2 item
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Blend together beef, eggs, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, onion, pepper, nutmeg, salt and garlic. Form into 1-inch balls. Heat oil in skillet and brown meatballs on all sides.In a large saucepan, add remaining cornstarch to pineapple juice along with soy sauce, vinegar, water and brown sugar. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add meatballs, fruit and green pepper and cook 5 minutes or until fruit is well heated.
Serve sprinkled with chopped Macadamia nuts or slivered almonds. Makes 40 to 50 meatballs.
