Sweet and sour lentils
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water
- cider vinegar - 3 4
- honey - 2 Tbsp
- basil - 1 tsp
- small onion - 1 item
- lentils - 1 c
How to make sweet and sour lentils:
Combine water and lentils; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 1/2 hour. Add chopped onion and cook 15 minutes more. Add remaining ingredients. Add more water if lentils look dry. Continue to simmer for 10 minutes. If the lentils are not tender, add a little more water and soak a few more minutes. Serve over rice, bulgur or millet.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beans, Lentil.
