  • garlic salt
  • hamburger - 5 lb
  • liquid smoke - 1 tsp
  • cracked black pepper
  • whole mustard seed

How to make summer sausage:

Mix thoroughly, cover and refrigerate. Mix thoroughly next 3 days. On fourth day, shape into 4 rolls. Wet hands first. Spray broiler pan with Pam or grease with shortening. Place rolls on pan and bake at 150° for 9 hours. Turn after 4 hours. Wrap in foil after they cool. Keep refrigerated or also may be frozen. Ground venison can be used in place of hamburger.
