  • water - 1 c
  • garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • onion powder - 1/4 tsp
  • liquid smoke - 1 2
  • mustard seed - 1/4 tsp
  • Morton Quick Tender salt - 3 Tbsp

How to make summer sausage:

Combine all ingredients. Divide mixture into 4 equal parts. Make a roll out of each part. (Roll will be approximately 2 inches in diameter and about 3 inches long.) Wrap each roll individually in foil, being sure the dull side is out. Refrigerate for 24 hours. Punch holes on bottom of each roll and place on a broiler pan. Put 1/2-inch of water in bottom of pan. Bake at 325° for 90 minutes. Let cool enough to handle, re-wrap and refrigerate. (Can also be frozen.)
