Sugar cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• flour
• butter - 1/2 c
• baking powder - 1/2 tsp
• baking soda - 1/2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• shortening - 1/2 c
• additional sugar - 1 item

How to make sugar cookies:

Mix butter, shortening and sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Add flour, baking soda and baking powder. Shape into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
