Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • cloves garlic, minced - 4 item
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 8 oz
  • oregano - 4 tsp
  • basil - 4 tsp
  • parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • Ricotta cheese - 1 lb
  • Italian sausage
  • ground chuck
  • small cans tomato paste - 2 item
  • frozen chopped spinach - 1 pkg
  • large can tomato puree - 1 item
  • large cans tomatoes - 2 item
  • box manicotti shells - 1 item
  • Marinara Sauce:1 medium onion, chopped

How to make stuffed shells:

Marinara Sauce:1 medium onion, chopped4 cloves garlic, minced2 Tbsp. sugar4 tsp. basil2 tsp. salt4 tsp. oregano1 Tbsp. parsley2 large cans tomatoes2 small cans tomato paste1 large can tomato puree Stuffing: Cook shells and set aside. Brown ground chuck and sausage. Drain off grease. Cook spinach and add to meat with Ricotta and Mozzarella cheeses. Stuff into shells and cover with Marinara Sauce. Place in a 350° oven and bake until hot (30 minutes).

Marinara Sauce: Saute onion and garlic with basil, oregano, parsley and salt. Stir in tomatoes, paste and puree. Add sugar. Heat on medium-high heat for approximately 20 minutes, stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally.
