Stuffed green peppers
Ingredients/Components
- cooked rice - 3 c
- ground meat beef or turkey - 1 lb
- or 5 large peppers - 4 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- parsley flakes - 1/2 tsp
- celery flakes - 1/2 tsp
- dash of garlic powder - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1 item
- small cans tomato sauce - 2 item
How to make stuffed green peppers:
In large frypan, saut?© onion. Add meat and remaining ingredients, except rice and tomato sauce. Cover with lid and reduce heat. After 10 minutes, add 1 can tomato sauce. Stir well. Cook another 10 minutes with lid on pan. Set aside. Wash and cut peppers in half. Remove membranes and seeds; parboil peppers (upside down) in salted water 10 minutes.Preheat oven to 350°. Place peppers in foil lined oblong baking dish. Mix rice and meat together. Stuff peppers. Spoon tomato sauce from second can over stuffed peppers. Add a small amount of water to bottom of baking dish so peppers won't burn. Cover with foil. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
