Strawberry upside-down cake

- butter or margarine - 3/4 c
- sugar - 1 item
- strawberries, washed and hulled - 1 pt
- grated lemon rind - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- 1/2 sifted flour - 1 item
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
How to make strawberry upside-down cake:
Melt 1/4 cup butter in 9-inch square pan. Mix 1/2 cup butter; add 1/2 cup sugar and beat until light. Add egg and beat well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt and add to first mixture with milk, beating until smooth. Carefully spread on berries. Bake in oven (375°) about 30 minutes.
