Strawberry shortcake
Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 3/4 c
- milk - 1 item
- butter - 1 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- egg - 1 item
- fresh strawberries - 1 qt
- flour all-purpose - 1 c
How to make strawberry shortcake:
Baking Temperature: 350°. Baking Time: 25 minutes or until light and golden.Place flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl. Put 1 egg in one cup size measuring cup. Add butter to equal the size of an egg, then fill the cup with milk. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Pour batter into 9 x 9-inch pan. Bake. Serve warm with milk and sliced, crushed or whole strawberries.
Remarks: This recipe has been handed down through the generations in our family and with its melt-in-your-mouth quality, it never ceases to be our favorite shortcake.
