Strawberry-rhubarb pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 1/3 c
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- fresh strawberries - 2 c
- pastry for 2 crust pie
- fresh rhubarb 1-inch pieces - 2 c
How to make strawberry-rhubarb pie:
Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar, salt and flour. Arrange half strawberries and rhubarb in pastry lined 9-inch pie pan. Sprinkle with half of sugar mixture. Repeat with remaining fruit and sugar mixture; dot with butter. Adjust top crust and flute edges. Brush top of pie with cold water and sprinkle on tablespoon of sugar. Bake in hot oven (425°) 40 to 50 minutes or until rhubarb is tender and crust is browned. Serve warm with sour cream or scoop of vanilla ice cream.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
