Strawberry angel dessert
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cold water - 1 c
- boiling water - 2 c
- whipped topping, thawed
- fresh strawberries* - 1 pt
- wild strawberry flavored gelatin - 1 serving)
- angel food cake cubes* - 4 c
How to make strawberry angel dessert:
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add cold water and chill until slightly thickened. Slice strawberries, reserving a few for garnish, if desired, and sprinkle with sugar. Blend whipped topping into gelatin; then fold in cake cubes and strawberries. Spoon into 10-inch tube pan or 13 x 9-inch cake pan; chill until firm, about 3 hours. Unmold or cut into squares. Garnish with additional whipped topping and the reserved strawberries. Makes 10 cups or 12 to 15 servings.*Can use 2 sliced bananas instead of strawberries, and pound cake cubes instead of angel food cake cubes.
