  • self-rising flour
  • Crisco - 1/4 c
  • water - 3/4 c
  • Filling:1 stick butter or margarine
  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • Spread some of the filling over the rolled dough

How to make stickies:

Mix together as for biscuit dough.Filling:1 stick butter or margarine1 Tbsp. Crisco1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Pinch off piece of dough the size of an orange and roll out thinly on floured board into a rectangle. Spread some of the filling over the rolled dough. Roll like a jelly roll and cut into 1/4-inch pieces. Place in a well-greased casserole, about 1/4-inch apart. Repeat this process until all the dough and filling have been used. Cook in oven for 25 minutes at 424°.Glaze:1 c. water1 c. sugar While cooking, mix glaze. Cook slowly on top of stove. Pour over Stickies when they come from the oven. Remove from pan immediately. (If using a small casserole dish use 1/2 of sugar-water at a time.) Yields approximately 6 1/2 dozen.
