Steak and dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- salad oil - 1/4 c
- poppy seed - 1 tsp
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- poultry seasoning - 1 tsp
- cans water - 2 item
- cans cream of mushroom or chicken soup - 2 item
- onions optional - 1 item
- mushrooms optional - 1 item
- round or chuck steak - 1 item
How to make steak and dumplings:
Pound flour into round or chuck steak. Cut into serving pieces. Brown; put into casserole and pour soup and water over meat. Cover. Bake at 300° for 2 hours or until tender. Water may be added if needed.Dumplings: After meat is tender, mix together flour and the next 7 ingredients. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls on top of meat. Bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not cover during this time.
