Spoon bread

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 Tbsp
• eggs - 2 item
• salt - 1 tsp
• soda - 1/2 tsp
• buttermilk - 1 c
• shortening - 2 Tbsp
• hot water - 1 c
• cornmeal - 1 c

How to make spoon bread:

Mix hot water and cornmeal together, add shortening, salt and sugar. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to mixture. Add well beaten eggs last. Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 375°. Spoon hot from pan.
