Spiced black beans
Ingredients/Components
- water - 8 c
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- medium onion - 1 item
- olive oil - 2 Tbsp
- red pepper flakes - 1/4 tsp
- whole cloves - 4 item
- black beans - 1 lb
- cumin - 1 Tbsp
- large carrot - 1 item
- stalk celery with leaves - 1 item
- smoked sausages - 2 item
- large sprigs cilantro - 4 item
How to make spiced black beans:
Soak beans overnight. Drain. Rinse. Stud the onion with cloves. Place all ingredients in a large Dutch oven and bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer and cook until tender, about 1 1/2 hours. Remove onion, carrot, celery and cilantro. Serve on rice.Recipe categories: Side dish, Pork, Bacon.
