Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 2 lb
- large green pepper - 1 item
- cooked rice - 1 c
- sprinkle of pepper - 1 item
- medium size onion - 1 item
- or less hamburger - 1 item
- medium can chopped tomatoes optional - 1 item
How to make spanish rice:
Fry ground beef in a skillet with chopped onion and green pepper on medium heat. Stir periodically to keep it from sticking. Drain properly.Add tomato paste and sugar. If desired, you can add 1 medium can of chopped tomatoes. You may need to add water to your mixture to thin your paste base.
Finally, add 1 cup "cooked" rice to your mixture. Salt and pepper. Let simmer for 15 minutes.
