Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • water - 1/3 c
  • butter or oleo - 1/2 c
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1 c
  • garlic salt - 1 Tbsp
  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • oregano - 1 Tbsp
  • basil - 1 Tbsp
  • tomato paste - 2 cans
  • tomato sauce - 2 cans
  • pasta vermicelli or angel hair - 12 oz
  • eggs, well beaten I use 2 - 3 item
  • light sour cream I use less - 2 c
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese I use more - 8 oz

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti al dente, drain. Stir in butter, Parmesan cheese and eggs. Chop well with knife and fork, form into greased 9 x 12-inch pan and a 10-inch pie plate as the crust. Cook ground beef and onion; drain off fat. Stir in tomato sauce and paste, sugar, water and seasonings. Cook for about 30 minutes on low heat. Spread sour cream on spaghetti crusts and fill with meat sauce. Cover with Mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes until bubbly. May be frozen after it is prepared and baked later.
