Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • cottage cheese - 1 c
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c
  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • can tomatoes - 1 oz
  • oregano, crushed - 1 tsp

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook the spaghetti according to package directions; drain. Stir butter into hot spaghetti, stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a buttered 10-inch pie plate. Spread cottage cheese over bottom of spaghetti crust.

In skillet, cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until the meat is brown. Drain off excess fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt; heat through. Turn meat mixture into spaghetti crust. Bake, uncovered, in 350° oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle the Mozzarella cheese on top. Bake 5 minutes longer. Makes 6 servings.
