Spaghetti pie



  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • dried oregano, crushed - 1 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • can tomatoes, cut up - 1 oz
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • cottage cheese - 1 c
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c
  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • well beaten eggs - 2 item

How to make spaghetti pie:

Preheat oven to 350°. Cook spaghetti according to directions, then drain. Stir butter in hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a crust on a buttered 10-inch pie plate.

In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until tender and meat is brown; drain off excess fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt.

Spread cottage cheese over bottom of spaghetti crust. Fill pie with tomato mixture. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese. Bake 5 minutes longer, until cheese melts.
