Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • cottage cheese - 1 c
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • crushed oregano - 1 tsp
  • shredded Mozzarella - 1/2 c
  • well beaten eggs - 2 item
  • can cut up tomatoes - 1 oz

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook the spaghetti according to package directions. Stir margarine into hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a crust in a buttered pie pan. Spread cottage cheese over bottom of spaghetti crust. In skillet, cook beef, onion and pepper until vegetables are tender and meat is brown. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt; heat through. Turn meat mixture into spaghetti crust. Bake, uncovered, in 350° oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle the Mozzarella cheese atop. Bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese melts. Serves 6.
