Ingredients/Components

  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • butter and margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
  • well beaten eggs - 2 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • can tomatoes, cut up - 1 oz
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • dried oregano, crushed - 1 tsp
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cottage cheese - 1 c
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti according to directions. Drain and stir in butter. Add Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form mixture into crust in 10-inch greased pie plate. In skillet, cook beef, onion and green pepper until vegetables are tender. Drain grease. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Heat through and spread cottage cheese over bottom of crust. Fill pie with meat mixture. Bake uncovered in 350° oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese and heat until cheese melts.
