Spaghetti pie
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- eggs, well beaten - 2 item
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- cottage cheese - 1 c
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- jar spaghetti sauce - 1 1/2
How to make spaghetti pie:
Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain. Add butter, cheese and eggs to hot spaghetti. Form mixture into "crust" in a 10-inch pie plate. Microwave on High 2 minutes.Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti crust; set aside.
Microwave crumbled ground beef on High in microwavable colander for 5 minutes; drain all fat. Add onion and green pepper to ground beef in bowl; microwave on High for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in spaghetti sauce; microwave, covered, on High for 5 to 7 minutes. Stir. Add this mixture to spaghetti crust covered with cheese. Microwave 6 to 8 minutes, turning once. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top. Microwave on High for 1 minute or until cheese melts.
Conventional Method: Follow procedure using skillet to cook meat on stove, but do not prebake spaghetti "crust." Layer ingredients according to instructions. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top; return to oven for 5 minutes. Yields 6 servings.
