Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour - 5 c
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • buttermilk
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • warm water - 1 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg

How to make sourdough biscuits:

Mix warm water and yeast. Set aside. Measure flour and sugar; sift together. Put buttermilk in large bowl with oil. Add other ingredients all at once. Store in refrigerator overnight. Work up into biscuits and bake at 375° for 20 minutes until good and brown. You can use part and store in refrigerator up to 4 weeks.
