Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- buttermilk
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- warm water - 1 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make sourdough biscuits:
Mix warm water and yeast. Set aside. Measure flour and sugar; sift together. Put buttermilk in large bowl with oil. Add other ingredients all at once. Store in refrigerator overnight. Work up into biscuits and bake at 375° for 20 minutes until good and brown. You can use part and store in refrigerator up to 4 weeks.Recipe categories: Breads, Southwestern u.s., Rolls/biscuits.
