Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • sour cream - 1 c
  • chopped nuts
  • flour - 2 c
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • 4x sugar - 1 c
  • warm milk - 2 Tbsp
  • stick real butter - 1 item

How to make sour cream coffee cake:

Filling:1 c. chopped nuts1/2 c. brown sugar2 tsp. vanilla Glaze:1/2 tsp. vanilla1 c. 4x sugar2 Tbsp. warm milk Cream the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, alternating with the sour cream. Add baking powder and soda and mix well. Pour 1/2 of the batter into a greased and floured Bundt or tube pan. Sprinkle 1/2 of nut mixture on batter in pan. Repeat. Bake 45 minutes at 350°. After cooling 7 minutes, turn upside down on plate and drizzle icing glaze on top.

I make this at Christmastime and decorate the top with red and green candied cherries.
