Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1 tsp
- shortening for frying - 1 item
How to make sopaipillas:
Sift all dry ingredients together. Work in shortening and lukewarm water to make a soft dough. Chill in refrigerator. Roll out dough on floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into 2 inch squares. Deep fry in hot shortening at 400° a few at a time. Brown on each side and drain on paper towel. Serve hot.
