Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- egg yolk - 1 item
- coarse salt - 1 item
- lukewarm water
- envelope yeast - 1 item
How to make soft pretzels:
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add salt and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add flour and knead for 5 minutes. Form into 15 to 16 balls. Immediately roll dough balls between hands to form 16 to 18-inch strips. Do not let the dough raise at any time! Wrap into pretzel form. Combine egg yolk with 1 teaspoon of water. Brush onto pretzel top. Sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake at 425° for 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Low fat.
